Justice in Mantle Coats: Shooting the Bulgarian People’s Courts in Revolutionary Times

Abstract

The purpose of this chapter is not to examine the legality or legitimacy of the court, but to explore how the legal sphere was politicized. In other words, the investigations focuses on the construction of justice as a public event in a situation when the political identity of the accused preceded ﹣and often prevailed over ﹣the commission of crimes.
