Abstract

The history of anti-Stalinist revolutionary movements remains an area of secondary interest in virtually all academic disciplines. This, in a sense, does not come as a great surprise, for it is only in the past two decades that the history of the generally more influential Communist movements has begun to outgrow its narrow straightjacket of cold war ideology. But with the proliferation of serious studies of the mainstream Left, it is to be expected that the less visible and less successful currents within the workers' movement will start to be investigated as well (...).
